Council Work Site Closures

Council's administration offices at Loxton and Waikerie will be closed to the public from 5:00pm Thursday 21 December 2023 and will reopen to the public at 9:00am Tuesday 2 January 2024.

Council's Libraries and Visitor Information Centres at Loxton and Waikerie will be closed to the public from 6:00pm Thursday 21 December 2023 and will reopen to the public at 9:00am Tuesday 2 January 2024.

Council's Work Depot sites at Loxton and Waikerie will be closed from 4:00pm Thursday 21 December 2023, reopening on Tuesday 2 January 2024.

Council's Waste Transfer Stations operating hours will remain unchanged during the Christmas/New Year period, though will be closed on public holidays.

Please note, the Loxton, Waikerie and Moorook Waste Transfer Stations will be open from 9am-12pm on days forecasted 40 degrees or above (according to the Elders weather website morning forecast). Members of the public are encouraged to check the forecast on days of extreme heat prior to visiting the transfer station.

Loxton Waste Transfer Station:

OPEN - Friday 22 December 2023 10am - 4pm

OPEN - Sunday 24 December 2023  1pm - 4pm

CLOSED - Tuesday 26 December 2023

OPEN - Friday 29 December 2023 10am - 4pm

OPEN - Sunday 31 December 2023 1pm - 4pm

Return to normal open hours from 9am Tuesday 2 January 2024

Waikerie Waste Transfer Station:

OPEN - Thursday 21 December 1pm - 4pm

OPEN - Sunday 24 December  1pm - 4pm

CLOSED - Tuesday 26 December 2023

OPEN - Thursday 28 December 2023 1pm - 4pm

OPEN - Sunday 31 December 2023 1pm - 4pm

Return to normal open hours from 9am Tuesday 2 January 2024

Moorook Waste Transfer Station:

Operating hours unaffected by public holidays:

OPEN – Saturday 23 December 2023 1pm - 4pm

OPEN – Saturday 30 December 2023 1pm - 4pm

Kerbside Waste Collection

There will be no kerbside waste collection on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day (both falling on a Monday). Bins will be collected the day after.

Council Swimming Pools & Recreation Centres

Loxton and Waikerie swimming pools will be closed on Christmas Day and Public Holidays. All other operating times remain unchanged.

All sites closed on public holidays.
