Have Your Say: Council's Draft Community Strategic Plan is open for feedback

The District Council of Loxton Waikerie is proud to unveil its Draft Community Strategic Plan for 2023-2038, which is now open for public consultation.

The plan acts as a comprehensive roadmap designed to enhance the quality of life in the district, promote economic growth, and ensure sustainable management of both natural and built environments.

The plan highlights the Council’s commitment to nurturing a vibrant and productive community, focusing on key areas such as community well-being, economic development, infrastructure enhancement, and environmental stewardship.

Key features of the strategic plan include:

  • Fostering community health and safety.
  • Supporting economic diversification and prosperity.
  • Investing in critical infrastructure.
  • Implementing strategies for environmental sustainability and climate change adaptation.

Mayor Trevor Norton said: "Our strategic plan is a testament to our dedication to making the Loxton Waikerie district the best rural community in the state. We invite our community members to engage with us on this journey and help us to shape the future of our district.”

Council invites the community to submit their feedback by using the online feedback form, indicating level of support and suggested changes to the final plan.

Feedback will be accepted until 5.00pm Thursday 7 December 2023, and can also be made:

  • by email at council@lwdc.gov.au,
  • by post to PO Box 409, Loxton SA 5333, or
  • in person, in writing, at the Council’s offices at 35 Bookpurnong Road, Loxton or Strangman Road, Waikerie.

A report containing all submissions on the Draft Community Strategic Plan 2023-2038 will be presented to an upcoming public Council meeting for consideration.
