All applications will need to be in writing for an advertised position and emailed to Council’s email address council@lwdc.sa.gov.au To ensure your application is accepted please email it to us within the specified timeframes as advertised.

All applicants must submit the following:

Please prepare your application according to the directions on the advert and in your letter state your experience, knowledge and skills that apply to the position.  Please obtain a copy of the Job and Person Specification so that you are aware of the requirements of the position and can address these in your application as well.  Please include copies of your licences, certificates, diplomas and tickets etc. that are relevant to the position.

Applications for unsolicited positions will not be kept on records.

Selection

All applications received within the set timeframes will be assessed by a selection panel, which mostly consists of 3 staff working within the same sector as the advertised position and the Human Resources Officer.  Applicants that meet the requirements of the position will be considered for an interview.

Interviews

Interviews will be held as soon as possible after the selections have been made, and where possible will be held in the town that the position is vacant e.g. Loxton or Waikerie. Interview panels usually consist of 3 people (with a gender balance).  Reference checks will be completed so please ensure your list is updated on your resume’ and you have advised them you are applying for the position.

When a decision is made the successful person will be contacted and sent a letter of offer.  If you are unsuccessful, you will be contacted via letter or email.

Successful applicants will be required to have a pre employment medical, hearing test and police clearance for all employment.
